In July of 2003 I entered the Chinook Winds Rib Eating contest which was part of their "Smokin at the Ocean" food festival. It was a two day event with time trials on that Friday and the main event on Saturday. The competition was brutal but in the end Ed "Cookie" Jarvis had consumed 4.65lbs. of pork rib meat in 12 minutes and walked away with the Pork Rib Belt along with the $1,250 purse!
